Bad Habit Safe Space – Wednesday, May 14 – 7-9PM

Wednesday, May 14, 2025

7:00 – 9:00 PM

Join us for the “pilot gathering” of a new event called The Bad Habit Safe Space! This event will be a safe space to reflect and discuss our undesired behaviors or addictions that we keep coming back to or frequently think about. We believe there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to how we approach these behaviors. We aim to help each other become more mindful of these behaviors and our attitudes towards them through meditation and mindful sharing with other peers.

All are welcome regardless of what your undesired behaviors are or your beliefs about your undesired behaviors. We will not be following any specific recovery program, and if you are in another program, you are still welcome to join us and share your experience while respecting others’ different journeys.

Be aware we may talk about sensitive subject matter such as substances and sexual behavior. This gathering is peer-led and is not a replacement for therapy or other professional mental health work.

Description

Facilitator Bio:
Leo L. (He/Him) is a 25-year-old who loves playing the piano, learning Japanese language and culture, and exploring the questions and experiences that life has to offer. He started attending the Dallas Meditation Center in September 2024 and has enjoyed the sense of peace and community the center provides. Drawing from personal life experiences with his own addictions, Leo wants to provide a safe space for others (and himself!) to explore their behaviors with a curious mindset to be able to find peace with one’s approach to life without preaching for a particular program or method.
