Welcome Fall by connecting with the Earth — a beautiful way to embrace the slowing and turn inward that comes with the season. This meditation practice is a gentle opportunity to come to peace in the present moment, releasing worry, anger, and fear in the body while opening it to compassion.

Facilitated by Lisa Goerdt and Cornell Kinderknecht. These practices are drawn from the mindfulness teachings and practices of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village tradition.

Core Practices in this Workshop

🧘 Deep Relaxation
Lying down or seated, you will be guided in a meditation that invites your body and mind to relax, offers gratitude to your body, and restores the balance of body, mind, and spirit. Gentle guidance and live music enrich the experience, deepening the bliss of relaxation.

🌱 Touching the Earth
This event is centered around a contemplative practice of touching the Earth six times. It is a powerful tool for returning to our inner wisdom and reestablishing our connection with Mother Earth, our blood ancestors, our land ancestors, and our spiritual ancestors. After a brief reading related to each group of ancestors, you will be invited to touch the Earth and deeply experience your connection to those ancestors, seeing the positive qualities in your own life, and releasing what is not beneficial into the Earth to be transformed.

“Wherever we are, we can be in touch with the earth…..we can bow down to receive its energy of stability and fearlessness….we release all of our fear, anxiety, and anger…and strengthen our capacity to look, speak and act with understanding and compassion towards ourselves and others.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh, Touching the Earth

What is provided: Mats, blankets, and cushions (for pillows) will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own blanket or to sit in a chair if you prefer.

Together we’ll enjoy an opportunity to rest, release, and renew. We look forward to seeing you!
